Hablando processes the personal data needed to operate your account: your name, email address, and (if you enable SMS) your mobile phone number.
How we use data
Data is used to operate your account and to send transactional messages, including email and — if you opt in — SMS verification codes and account/security notifications.
SMS / mobile messaging
We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number or SMS opt-in with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. Mobile information is used solely to deliver the messages you requested (2FA codes and account/security notifications). Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel at any time, or HELP for help.
Sharing
We share data only with the processors needed to run the service (e.g. email, SMS, and hosting providers) and as required by law. We do not sell personal data.

Your learning and speaking practice
Guest progress stays on your device. When you sign in, Hablando stores your confirmed answers, lesson progress and rewards with your Yak account so you can continue on another device. Weekly leagues are optional and show a generated alias and XP.
Speaking sends your short recording to Yak's hosted transcription service. Hablando deletes its temporary recording files after processing. Check the transcript before submitting your answer. You can type instead at any time.
Storage on your device
An essential session cookie keeps you signed in. Local storage saves your progress, settings and pending changes; the offline cache holds public lessons and audio. Clearing browser storage removes unsynced progress.
